  • There are several software packages available for transcription of recorded material. Express Scribe is the market leader and has versions for Windows and Mac OSX; both versions work 100% with the Infinity USB pedal. We can supply a licensed copy of Express Scribe if you wish.
     
  • The Infinity pedal will not work with Windows Media Player.
     
  • The Infinity USB pedal will probably not work with your proprietary transcription software because the software will probably need to find a particular chip inside the pedals to ensure that only their own hardware will work with the software. But don’t despair! Software like Express Scribe will almost certainly be able to play your dictation files without any difficulty, so just use that instead of the proprietary system.
     
  • Call us to check if your software application is known to work with the Infinity.
     
  • The Infinity USB pedal works best with Windows XP and 2000; because USB support was not introduced until Windows 98 Second Edition, performance in any W98 installation may be patchy. Windows ME performance has not been tested and cannot be guaranteed.
     
  • Express Scribe now seems to work pretty well with Windows Vista.
     
  • Most modern PCs with built-in USB ports should accept the Infinity pedal without difficulty. But remember the software you use may or may not work with the pedal, or it may need a driver to be installed
     
  • If your current software does not work with the Infinity pedal, then don’t despair - your sound files should play in other software so you can still use the Infinity.
